- Tropeognathus is a pterosaur which lived approximately 125 million to 100 million years ago - from the Early Cretaceous Period through the Middle Cretaceous Period.
- It was first discovered during the 1980s when a German museum acquired its fossils from Brazilian fossil dealers.
